Once More, With Feeling: The Virgin Run

Greetings!
I'm not going to lie, I enjoy the picture in my previous post so much I didn't really want to update just so I can have that picture permanently at the top of the screen, but alas, an update is due. I promised to talk about my show, and that is what shall be done. First off, a huge thank you to all of you who listened, or had the intention of listening, it means a lot, and I hope that you don't regret it. I personally had tons of fun and I feel it went really really well, so I cannot wait until next week. It is absolutely unbelievable just how quickly that hour went by...the show was over just as I was getting into the groove of it. But alas. Such things happen. Apparently alas is the word of the day.

Anyhoosier, about 7 mins before the show ended Hilary had the audacity to remember that it just so happened to be Talk Like a Pirate Day (only the coolest day of the year) and we had wasted nearly the entire show without talking like a pirate. We were really missing out, so we had to shove a lot of pirate talk into those 7 minutos. But all is good in the land of Argyle. Speaking of which...this weeks score:

So the music we played was rocking, I had fun talking, and me and Hilary were going a little buck nutty. It was definitely good times filled with interpretive dances and much laughage. Yay for giggles.

And on to the news, or as we say in the land of Argyle, Canard:

Sri Lanka- The Sri Lankan cabinet has decided to reduce the age of consent for sexual encounters from 16 to 13. Why? you might ask. Well it's obvious, isn't it? Cabinet spokesperson Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the action has been taken due to rising numbers of men arrested for sexual relations with girls below the age of 16.

Isn't this essentially saying too many people are getting arrested for murdering people, so lets legalize it? A little redonkulous if you ask me. Silly silly Sri Lanka, you're such a pushover when it comes to criminals.

A Czech town has built a 10,000-euro (12,000 dollar) bridge to protect a handful of squirrels from a busy road, without knowing if they will use it.

The seven-metre (23-foot) high cable bridge attached to two trees spans a road that divides a large park in the town of Sokolov in the west of the country, near the German border.

"We think this construction is unique in the world. I myself witnessed two dead squirrels on the road in the space of two months and I felt we had to do something," Sokolov mayor Karel Jakobec told AFP Thursday.

At the moment the park is home to just three squirrels.

"The idea is that instead of going down trees and crossing the road to get to the other side of the park the squirrels will go up and across. But we don't know yet if it will work," he added.

Most of the 290,000 koruna (9,920 euro) cost was met from a grant by Czech brewer Staropramen as one of 10 grants it awarded for ecological projects in the country. The remaining 40,000 koruna was funded by the town council.

"We have already arranged for two more pairs of squirrels to be brought from an animal rescue centre and we are hoping that the squirrel population in the park will now grow," added Jakobec.

Squirrels are a protected species in the Czech Republic.

I personally feel there are probably much better uses for that money. But alas (ha! you thought I forgot!) I suppose that's just me.

In other news, I received one of the coolest emails of my life today. It's from a radio station in Boston that are going to be having the Dresden Dolls on their show and they sent me a personal email saying that they wanted my input (due to the fact that I "shamelessly promote" them, direct quote)[Set to air October 6th here]. So that was pretty awesome. And be sure that I am going to respond, let them know how badly I am in love with them, and the fact that they should come on my radio show haha. Obviously they will not be doing such a thing, but how investigamazing would it be if they did? It would make my millennium like you wouldn't believe. So yeah...I get to add input to a show with the Dresden Dolls. My lovers. They just don't know it yet. Speaking of which...they will be in Columbus in less than a month. Me and Laura shall be going, at this point I don't care anymore. I have to see them when an opportunity like this arises...the details can be worked out later. I shall be buying three tickets, with the hopes the third one will be used. I love them to no end and I HAVE to take advantage of them being here. Maybe it is no coincidence that I just happened to be wearing their shirt today too. Woot.

Well, I really need to be off to Rocky Horror rehearsal, so alas, I send this to the wind and may it find its way to your computer screen.
